I decided to show few pictures from the process of creating painting “Mintsy”.
This painting is something between illustrations and 3D miniature model houses.
This piece was inspired by my surreal illustrations and also by streetart.
Lets get started!
Walls of paintings are done from cardboard (final version has thickness 1cm and 3 layers).
On the top is thin layer of ceramic clay drying on air+painted by acrylics.
Following step is adding details-cutting windows, handmade minibricks, painting of minigraffiti…
Creating miniature bird‘s housies for the house’s walls and details.
And more and more details for Mintsy and another pieces.
Made from: ceramic clay drying on air, jewelry components, cardboard,
wire, glass bead, superglue, white glue, matt varnish.
Process from painting of graffiti.
Actually this piece was kind of challenge for me. I don‘t used to use soft colour palette like there!
Here you can also see structural surface of painting made from ceramic clay.
This is how the final thickness of the cardboard looks like.
I added two new layers more. They are glued with white glue +under pressure/drying for 24 hours.
*This picture is from the another painting in series done by the same way.
There 4 pieces more with atypical frame on the wayyyy.
I also made wooden frame to measure.
On the pic-drying process of cutted frame. Glued with white glue for wood
+ all under pressure/drying for 24 hours.
-retouching imperfect parts with sandpapper
-correcting of gaps between connected parts
-retouching fixed parts
-final color paint (acrylic)
-matt varnish as a protection
Frame has metallic glint of silver colour.
Layer of paint is very soft so you can see the natural drawing of wood.
Ahhh.Yes! It was a lot of work but it is worth it 🙂
